A TRUCK driver who died in a crash in Nympsfield yesterday has been named locally as Simon Lea.
The 46-year-old died at the scene after his pick up truck collided with a lorry on Bath Road.
The lorry driver was also seriously injured and has been airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he is described as being in a stable condition.
Mr Lea worked for Elcombe Fire & Wood in Stroud.
In a post on Facebook, the company said: "All of us here at Elcombe are deeply shaken by the news that one of our drivers was fatally injured in a collision near Nympsfield yesterday.
"Our thoughts are with their family, colleagues and friends right now."
A JustGiving page has been set up to raise money for his fiancee's daughter, Dawn.
A post reads: "Weʼre raising £200 for a little girl named Dawn who lost her daddy tragically yesterday in a collision with a lorry.
"Simon Lea was tragically killed in a road traffic accident yesterday. He was a wonderful man, who had great kindness for everyone he met.
"He has left behind a lot of loved ones, including a two and a half year-old little girl named Dawn.
"Please help us raise some money to give this precious little girl a treat to soften her pain slightly.
"Nothing will replace him but let's make her smile he would want that."
Road closures at the Horsley turning on the B4058, at Tincote Barn and at the recycling centre were lifted at 1am today.
Anyone who witnessed the collision but hasn't spoken to police should call 101 and quote incident 253 of April 25.
