PLANS are being made for the return of a popular community arts festival in Stonehouse this summer.
Stonehouse Community Partnership (SCP) is joining forces with Maidenhill, the Shrubberies, Park Infant and Park Junior Schools to create a range of community murals and sculptures.
The displays on the war memorial green will celebrate transport in Stonehouse through the centuries.
Pupils and groups at SCP are making a range of transport models including a quarter-size Spitfire.
Stonehouse History Group is also helping out to supply text for historical information boards to be displayed alongside the artworks.
An exhibition of arts and crafts produced by schools, community groups and members of SCP’s art groups will be on display at the High Street Medical Centre.
The festival, in its third year, will run from June 28 to July 2, alongside the Paint the Town Pink week for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Murals will remain on display until the end of July to help the Stonehouse in Bloom entry.
