YOUNG and old came to enjoy pancake fun at an annual event organised by the Ruscombe and Whiteshill Community Shop.
Wet weather did not stop around 30 participants come along to toss pancakes while they raced from one end of the recreation field by the village shop in Whiteshill to another.
Categories included races for men, woman and children.
Shelter was also provided inside the Whiteshill Scout group’s shelter hut for more pancake fun, which included the creation of a new sport - pancake tennis.
Around 40 homemade pancakes were sold courtesy of volunteers at the community shop, with a range of toppings including sugar and lemon and honey.
The event, which has been running since 1999, raised around £50 to help keep the village shop running.
