A MENINGITIS charity based in Stroud is celebrating 30 years of fighting the illness.

This year Meningitis Now is asking its supporters to help highlight the achievements and inspiration of the past three decades on an online photo wall hosted on the charity’s website.

Anyone affected by the disease can use the wall to share what the achievements in the fight against meningitis mean to them or to publicly thank those who have helped them rebuild their lives.

Amanda Oxford, director of fundraising and communications at the charity, said: “We are constantly inspired by the courage and determination of families affected by meningitis.

“We want to showcase as many stories from the last 30 years as we can, and use this inspiration to create national awareness of the ongoing fight against meningitis.’’

Meningitis Now is also creating a range of exciting events and activities to mark the anniversary and raise an additional £2 million to dramatically increase awareness and vaccine uptake amongst groups at risk.
