VIBRANT paintings and drawings of landscapes, interiors, and still-lives open at a show in Stroud this weekend.
Rendered by Katharine Neilson, the collection will open at Kendrick Street Gallery on Saturday, and Katharine will be on hand to discuss her work between 10am and 2pm.
Katharine works instinctively and fast using bold colours, mostly in oils and acrylics.
"My work tends to concentrate on the overall balance of colours and shapes rather than specific detail," she said.
"I don’t see myself solely as a landscape painter, but my desire to be outside in quiet and remote places leads me to draw and paint in response to what I see and feel. It’s always best to work on the spot as it’s more spontaneous, and you get the true colour and feeling”.
Exhibition continues until October 25.
