SUPERMUM Angela Roach is in the running for a top award which celebrates the achievements of businesswomen who juggle work with family life.

Angela, who runs The Hotel Nanny, which provides professional childcare services to the luxury hotel market in the Cotswolds, has reached the final of The Mumpreneur Awards.

She has been shortlisted in the Unique Business category and also for the Inspirational Business Mum award.

“I am delighted to have been recognised for how unique The Hotel Nanny business model is and I am thrilled that the judges saw this out of the thousands of entries they receive. I’m truly thrilled with the news,” she said.

Angela lives in Westonbirt with husband Alexis and their two young children, Misha, five, and Jonty, 16 months.

She started the business in 2010 after spotting a gap in the market for a professional nannying service in hotels.

The business lets parents enjoy time together while their children are looked after by a fully qualified and experienced nanny.

“When my daughter was six months old we went away to a beautiful exclusive hotel for the weekend,” she explained.

“After being dazzled by the facilities available, I discovered that the childcare services were insufficient. The arrangements were very informal with next to no details about the qualifications of the person involved.

“This made both my husband and I uneasy about going ahead with childcare. Essentially, we were unable to enjoy our stay to the full.”

The service is available at several hotels, including the Hare and Hounds Hotel at Tetbury and Whatley Manor near Malmesbury.

Entries in 12 categories will be judged by a panel of top entrepreneurs and announced at the Mumpreneur Conference and Awards held at the Heart of England Centre in Meriden, Warwickshire, on Saturday, November 8.

This year’s conference is set to be the biggest yet, with 250 parents in attendance and a selection of top speakers and exhibitors.

Mumpreneur UK was started by two female entrepreneurs, Amanda Farren and Laura Rigney, who have seven children between them.

They organised the first Mumpreneur Conference in 2009 after finding other mainstream business events did not cater for the needs of mums running their own business.
