MOTORISTS are being urged to find an alternative route during this evening’s rush hour and tomorrow morning due to a traffic light fault at the C&G roundabout.
The lights on the approaches from the A417 Barnwood Link and A417 Barnwood Bypass towards the C&G roundabout are currently not working due to an electrical fault.
Contractors are on site attempting to fix the fault, but it is expected to cause delays tomorrow and motorists are being advised to avoid the area for the next 24 hours.
Gloucestershire County Council highways project manager Scott Macaulay Lowe said: “We are doing everything we can to fix a fault with the C&G roundabout traffic lights, which has been caused by weather damage to the electrical controls.
"A specialist team is already on site, with replacement electronic parts being programmed for installation tomorrow.
“Our advice is for people to use an alternative route on their way home tonight and when they make their way to work tomorrow.
“We are trying to fix the lights as quickly as possible and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
