BUSINESS is booming now that Chalford Shop has settled into its new home in the heart of the village.
Since the shop reopened at its new premises in the former Seventh Day Adventist Hall in the high street the store’s takings have tripled.
The shop had been trading from a temporary home in Christ Church on London Road, but through a combination of grant funding, a mortgage and £53,000 share issue, the store committee was able to secure more suitable premises which opened in July.
Stroud district councillor Debbie Young (Con, Chalford), said: “This is really, really good news for the shop.
“It has been so successful that we have even had to increase our opening hours.”
From Monday to Friday the shop opens at 8am until 2pm then reopens at 4pm until 6pm, on Thursday 8am to 7pm and on Saturdays and Sundays 8am until 1pm. More volunteers are also needed.
If interested call Debbie on 07973 137877.
