THE sentencing of four friends who lied to police after the death of a popular Stroud man has been adjourned until the end of the month.
Paul Tabb, James Churchill, Dean Neale and Simon Lloyd-Jones admitted perverting the course of justice following the death of their friend Nick Bonnie, who died after taking a suspected bad batch of illegal drugs.
Mr Bonnie, who grew up in King's Stanley, died on September 28 last year. He collapsed at the Warehouse Project nightclub in Trafford during a lads weekend and later died at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Tabb, aged 30, of Stanley View, Stroud, Churchill, aged 30, of Selsley West, Neale, aged 29, of Moseley Crescent, and Lloyd-Jones, aged 29, of Foxmoor Lane, were due to be sentenced today, Friday, however the case has been adjourned until Monday, October 20 due to a barrister running late.
Churchill admitted six counts of supplying a Class A drug while he, Tabb and Neale pleaded guilty to possession of MDMA and cocaine.
Police in Manchester confirmed the drugs were bought in Gloucestershire.
