DOZENS of businesses, schools and individuals rose to the challenge this week to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Staff at the Stroud News & Journal baked up a storm for their event on Friday morning and were able to raise £137 for charity.
Stroud Town Council also hosted a coffee morning and raised £335 while the Newmarket Macmillan Coffee Morning and First Nailsworth Bake Off Competition at the George Inn on Saturday morning raised an amazing £550.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest fundraising event and last year over 154,000 people signed up to host a coffee morning – raising a record £20 million for the charity.
