THE Five Valleys were turned into a sea of orange on Sunday as walkers stepped up to raise money for Meningitis Now.
Thousands of walkers took advantage of the warm weather and joined the annual 21-mile Five Valleys Walk.
Chief executive Sue Davie said: “We’re very grateful to everyone who came along and supported us and I’m delighted that the lost keys, lost phone and lost dog were all successfully reunited with their owners.”
Opening up the Lynn Chadwick Sculpture Park for the first time this year to celebrate the centenary of the birth of the sculptor was also a big hit with walkers.
Sponsorship money for the event is still being collected but the charity is hopeful that it will meet its £50,000 fundraising target.
