SNJ editor Sue Smith is getting into shape for an adventurous holiday.
HAVE dropped almost a stone now and every single ounce has been blood sweat and tears.
Actually bucket loads of the latter.
Let my hair down a teeny weeny bit last weekend and put on two pounds in two days.
It then took me the rest of the week to shift it.
Trying to move a mountain doesn’t come even close.
How does that work then?
This weight loss malarkey obviously gets harder with age – every inch of fat is hanging on in there for dear life at the moment.
I really need to get back to the gym – but when? How?
I know it is easy to make excuses not to go training and fitness instructors always say you can find the time if you want to but I genuinely can’t fit it in just now.
Well I suppose I could have foregone Downton Abbey but that would have been one drastic step too far in my book – I mean, let’s keep a grip on reality here.
The dark mornings and evenings definitely make exercising at the start and end of the day very unappealing but now I really am making excuses.
Goal for this week is to get to the gym at least once and the pool definitely once then I won’t feel so guilty closing the curtains and hunkering down for the rest of the week and the weekend.
Decorating on the cards next weekend so that should burn up a few calories as well as a bit of gardening to get things ship shape for the winter.
Losing weight has spurred me on to keep going.
I am determined to see the other side of this stone by next week come rain or shine.
