A CRUNCH meeting to determine whether a new supermarket is built in Stroud takes place tonight, Tuesday.
Stroud District Council’s development control committee is due to rule on three applications.
Plans for a medium sized Asda on the Daniels Industrial Estate in Bath Road, Lightpill has been recommended for approval.
An application for what is believed to be a Morrisons on the Avocet Industrial Estate off Dudbridge Road has been recommended for refusal, as are plans for a £15 million supermarket on land near the Ryeford junction on the Ebley bypass.
Plans to turn the Market Tavern in Union Street, Stroud, into a foodstore will also be taken into consideration at the same meeting, although an official application has not yet been submitted.
