THE A436 has closed both ways after a lorry caught fire yesterday between A435 Cirencester Road, Severn Springs and the A40, Kilkenny Arms, Kilkenny.
The lorry carrying bales of hay caught fire at around 3pm yesterday, Friday.
Due to significant damage to the road surface, the road remained closed throughout the night however is soon to reopen.
Traffic appears to be coping well approaching the closure points.
A spokesman for Gloucestershire County Council said: "The road was closed last night and remains closed now.
"There are plans to open the road under traffic light control. We are still waiting for confirmation but that is the intention."
