A SEVERE weather warning has been issued for Gloucestershire.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms for the South West from today, Friday, through to 10am tomorrow morning.
Many places will miss the thunderstorms as they travel north throughout today, but the public should be aware of the potential for isolated disruption due to surface water flooding, lightning strikes and hail.
In Stroud it is expected to remain cloudy for the rest of today, Friday, with further heavy, thundery showers in places.
It is expected to brighten up through the day with some warm sunny periods later, and showers easing.
On Saturday however, the mist and low cloud will clear during the morning, with bright or sunny spells developing and by Sunday the wet weather and dark clouds should have cleared completely.
With highs of 22 expected tomorrow Stroudies can make the most of the dry weather at any number of the events happening in the district.
