ROSIE Buckland, the real Rosie Green of Laurie Lee’s Cider With Rosie, has died just days short of turning 100.
Rosalind Buckland, who lived in Cheltenham and was cousin to Laurie, died on Saturday.
Cider With Rosie, which has sold more than six million copies, describes Lee’s childhood in Slad – and an encounter with cider-drinking Rosie is a key episode in the book.
Mrs Buckland’s maiden name was Green.
This year marks the centenary of Lee’s birth
