SPEND an evening with the Iron Lady of British politics at Stroud Theatre Festival.
Meet The Real Maggie Thatcher – a modern drama by Gerundagula, Liverpool’s radical touring company – will provide an insight into one of the most notorious political leaders of our time.
Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the Miners’ Strike, the performance will grapple with topics such as the Poll Tax and the Falklands crisis.
Although controversial in content, the theatre company stress that it is their aim to "provoke personal opinion by engagement", and the piece is not a “grave stamping exercise”.
Performances will take place at The British School, next to Star Anise Cafe, on Gloucester Street, Stroud on Friday at 6pm and Sunday at 9pm, followed by a question and answer session with playwright Mike Francis Carvalho and the cast.
Tickets available from the Sub Rooms or via www.stroudtheatrefestival.co.uk
