AN 85-YEAR-OLD Stroud man died after surgery to remove a cancerous tumour, an inquest heard on Wednesday.
Arthur Cyril Beauchamp of Westward Road, Ebley, died in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with his family at his bedside on January 22 this year, the Gloucester inquest was told.
The pensioner’s GP confirmed that Mr Beauchamp was in a very poorly condition when he was admitted to hospital suffering from lung disease, vascular disease, heart disease and having had had his right leg amputated.
An operation to remove a cancerous tumour in his colon was performed but after a brief improvement his condition deteriorated and he died from multiple organ failure and sepsis.
Senior Coroner for Gloucestershire, Katie Skerrett, concluded that death was due to natural causes.
