THE M5 northbound lane is now open on the exit slip road following an earlier vehicle fire and recovery work at J13, A419 (Stroud).
The fire service control room received a call from a motorist reporting his car had caught fire at 12.50pm today, Wednesday.
The vehicle pulled over on the A419 to wait for assistance after leaving Junction 13 of the M5.
A crew from Stroud Fire Station was mobilsed to deal with the incident with a crew of five fire fighters.
Fire crews had to use two hose reel and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire and remained on scene for over 40 minutes.
The vehicle was severely damaged as a result of the fire.
No-one was hurt and the fire was confirmed as accidental.
