GLOUCESTERSHIRE coroner Alan Crickmore appeared at Southwark Crown Court on Thursday charged with theft and fraud.
The total amount of money alleged to have been stolen or defrauded is in excess of £2 million pounds.
Crickmore, aged 57, of East Approach Drive, Cheltenham is charged with 12 counts of theft, seven counts of fraud by abuse of position and one count of fraud by false representation.
A further hearing takes place on October 17.
