VOLUNTEERS celebrated the opening of the new Town Information Centre in Nailsworth on Wednesday, August 14.
The centre was moved from Fountain Street to the former police station in Old Market after a project to convert it by Nailsworth Town Council.
TIC manager Carole de la Croix said "We are delighted to be in the new premises, with new facilities in what is a lovely bright space right in the middle of town.
"We've already seen an increase in the number of visitors."
The development has been funded by a £150,000 loan taken out by the town council with repayments matching the rent on the old unit.
It relies on a large team of volunteers to give information to visitors and residents.
Deputy mayor Jonathan Duckworth said: "It is a great asset for the town and we are delighted that the project has secured a public building for the town for the future at no extra cost."
