THE Cotswold Care Hospice is appealing for volunteer drivers to provide transport for patients.
Volunteers are needed to drive the charity’s adopted adapted vehicle for wheelchair users. Training takes an hour and is provided.
“It is just a few hours one day a week but makes a huge difference to patients who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend the hospice,” said Suzie McDonnell, volunteer manager.
“Without this vital service, many people in our community would not get the support they need at a difficult time in their life.“
Their visits to the hospice provide them with the opportunity to meet other people who are in the same position as themselves, living with a life-limiting illness.
Volunteers need to use their own cars and will receive mileage costs.
Driver need to be aged over 25 years old and under 70 and have fully comprehensive insurance.
