Sharon Baker, a volunteer for the Stroud and district fundraising group for Marie Curie Cancer Care, said: "We would just like to say a huge than you to the people of Stroud who were extremely generous."

Sharon and fellow Marie Curie supporter Julia Gerard also took cakes around town to sell.
