POLICE investigating the murder of a woman in Cheltenham believe she was killed by her former husband.
The body of Jane Wiggett, also known as Jane Spencer, was found after police were called to Mendip House in Mendip Road, Whaddon in the early hours of Friday.
Police are keen to locate Ms Wiggett's ex-husband Danny Spencer, also from Cheltenham, whom they currently believe to be responsible for her death.
Mr Spencer is well known in the town and frequents Cheltenham town centre and Whaddon. He is a regular drinker in many of the town centre pubs. Mr Spencer is believed to be seeking to leave the country.
Danny Spencer is described as white, of stocky build and in his late 50s. He appears to be bald or have close cropped grey hair. He is not considered to pose a threat to the public but the public should not approach him.
Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to call Gloucestershire police on 101 quoting incident 457 of August 15.
