THE first elections for Stonehouse Town Council in over ten years takes place on Wednesday.
The election for the vacancy in the town's North Ward arose due to the resignation of Belle Nelson who was co-opted onto the town council in 2011.
Former town councillor, Trevor Baker, and Park Infants School chair of Governors, Paul Stephen, are the two candidates hoping to represent the largest ward in the town.
Residents from the North Ward can vote at St Joseph's Church in Oldends Lane from 7am until 10pm on Wednesday.
Votes will be counted at the district council offices in Ebley Mill from 10pm. The winning candidate will attend his first town council meeting on Monday, September 2.
