A POLISH couple have made an urgent plea for the return of a lost wallet - because without it they cannot visit their family for Christmas.
Adam Pogomowski, 27, is desperate because his wallet contained his driving licence, without which he cannot travel home to Zabrze in southern Poland.
He thinks it fell out of his pocket last Monday while he was on his way to work at COG Engineering in Stonehouse.
The most important item was his driving licence.
"I don't care about the money or anything else, I just need the licence back," said Adam, who lives in Middle Street, Stroud with his girlfriend Beata Rybinska, 24.
"It's really upsetting, we miss the family terribly and they are expecting us.
"The family from both sides are planning a big get together."
Adam has a European driving licence and has been told he can only apply for a new one in Poland.
"We have already booked our ferry for the Christmas visit," said Adam, a machine operator.
"As a last resort I could take the train but it would be such a waste of money and time is running out.
"I have checked with the authorities here and they say I can't apply for a new licence unless I go back to Poland.
"I have to be there in person."
The wallet also contained Adam's Polish identity card, £10 in cash and a debit card.
Adam and Beata came to Stroud in the summer and have fallen in love with the town.
"We love it here, we never want to leave," said Beata, who works at Renishaw in Woodchester.
