STROUD'S Apollo Cinema has celebrated its first birthday by inviting children and their families helped by Winstons Wish to a private screening of Barnyard.
Winstons Wish support children who have just lost someone they love - especially a parent, brother or sister.
With the charity helping over 11,000 children and their families each year the work they do makes a difference to the lives to everyone they have helped.
With sweets, popcorn and drinks donated by the Cinema's suppliers, Tudor Confectionary, Tommy Tucker and Coca Cola everyone who attended last Saturday November 11 had an enjoyable mornings entertainment.
And a lucky few left with prizes ranging from film merchandise that the Cinema had collected since the opening last year to the lucky winner of a Barnyard poster along with a set of free Cinema tickets.
The Cinema management team were delighted with the event and look forward to supporting Winstons Wish again in the near future.
Last night, Friday, Broughtons Aston Martin from Cheltenham brought along a sports car to the Apollo for the opening of the new James Bond film, Casino Royale. (See page 25 of this weeks SNJ for a review of the new Bond film).
