ASSANAKIS Irene of Stonehouse. Sadly passed away peacefully at home with her family by her bedside on Sunday 22nd January, aged 91 years. Cherished wife of the late Costa, much loved mother to the late Tass, Nick and Helen and her surviving daughter Kate, a loving Nan and adouring Yaya. Funeral to take place on Friday 17th February at St Cyrs Church Stonehouse, 2pm. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu for Cancer Research and Stroke Association can be sent c/o Philip Ford and Son, Dirleton House, Cainscross Road, Stroud, GL5 4ES.

Irene Assanakis was a wonderfully kind-hearted person and I am very sad to hear of her passing. Sincere condolences to all the family. I knew her when my parents (Rosemary and Peter Barker) lived in Cranham, Gloucestershire, and she helped my parents enormously in communicating with my Greek mother-in-law's family.
