Ive just come across this notice of Nicks passing and wish to add my sincerest condolences to all Nicks family and friends
I played sport with Nick at Marling and , having moved to Huddersfield , like he , moved sports from rugby to football and admired from afar his achievements.
As I remember him , a truly great guy who will be sadly missed

I just received a phone call from Bernie and couldn't believe what she was telling me. I knew Nick from school days and, later in life, from working alongside him for many years in Stroud. You could not wish to meet a nicer, more polite, gentleman. He always had time for everyone and was the first to make visitors welcome. Needless to say; he carried out his work in what I always regarded as an exemplary fashion. You will be sadly missed Nick. It was my pleasure to know you. Thoughts are with Bernie, family and friends.

So sorry to hear this shocking news about Nick's death. He was a great sportsman and I remember our schooldays at Marling playing rugby together. He was also a very talented soccer player. He was always friendly and polite and never had a bad word for anyone. You will be missed Nick. I am regrettably away and unable to attend the memorial service. IAN DAVID
