THE Pete Gage Blues Trio play at the Royal Oak in Woodchester on Friday at 8.30pm.
Featuring ex Dr Feelgood front man Pete Gage on vocals and keyboard, Paul Hartshorn on guitar and Duncan Kingston on double bass, these veteran bluesmen will perform a set of classic blues with tinges of jazz and gospel.
Pete's music career started in the mid 60s, when he joined ex-Shadows bassist Jet Harris's band, playing the British club circuit.
He remained on the blues circuit, playing with various bands until 1994, when legendary R&B band Dr Feelgood lost their frontman Lee Brilleaux to cancer. Pete took-up the challenge of stepping into Lee's shoes, touring with the band for four years throughout Europe, where his performances were well received by the fans.
Since 2000 he has continued to work in the blues field, both with his full band and the pared back trio.
