The match at Mansfield was like a battle of two rutting stags. It was an exciting seven goal battle with Rovers gaining a deserved three points, scoring four goals, two of which were from set pieces. Is a new Rovers team emerging?
Saturday was a very sad day. Not so much for the home defeat because they happen.
THE derogatory football chant aimed at Forest Green fans could be heard loud and clear.
It was a trip into the unknown for Forest Green on Saturday. Orient were struggling in the league and had been humiliated in the cup by Walton and Tiptree. The club were in a jam. Manager Carl Fletcher had been sacked after 29 days in charge. So many people were still reeling from the death of popular manager Justin Edinburgh.
A MASSIVE well done to Forest Green groundsman Adam Witchell and his staff for getting the game on after the New Lawn was hit by weather of biblical proportions.
They call it “El Glosico” and whilst the magnitude of the game is far from Real Madrid versus Barcelona, this is definitely a big one for the players and fans of rivals Forest Green and Cheltenham Town.
The best performance of the season but the worst result! In the first-half against Mansfield Rovers we were outstanding. Moving the ball quickly they dominated a sluggish visiting team. Three points should have been signed, sealed and delivered by half-time.
