FOREST GREEN have obtained international clearance for midfielder Ben Gill following his release from Slovenian Premier League club NK Interblock.
Gill, 22, is now set to make his Forest Green debut at home to Southport tomorrow (3pm). The former Arsenal trainee played under Dave Hockaday in the Watford academy and has also played for Cheltenham Town and spent time with Blue Square Premier clubs Crawley Town and Weymouth before deciding to chance his arm with the Slovenian cup winners.
Hockaday must make changes to his defence after Scott Bartlett and Gavin Caines were both sent off at Crawley on Monday. Defenders Curtis McDonald and Jamie Grimes could return to the starting line up, while striker Ross Dyer (knee) could be involved for the first time this season. Winger James Norwood (abductor) remains a major doubt and right-back Jared Hodgkiss (knee) remains sidelined for another three weeks.
