FOREST Green have paid up the remainder of goalkeeper Matt Bulman’s contract to enable the former Swindon Town stopper to seek first team football.

His contract was due to expire in June, but boss Ady Pennock has agreed a deal to allow the Rovers' number two to leave now.

Bulman leaves the New Lawn with some fond memories and is mulling over a few offers as he starts the next chapter of his career, he said: “ I loved every single minute of it.I have a few offers and I'm sorting myself out for next week.”

Formerly on the books of Swindon Town and Salisbury City, Bulman moved to The New Lawn after a fine season for Cirencester in 2010-11 earned him Player of the Year. He penned an initial two-year contract before a later extension until June 2014.

After impressing in preseason, Bulman began the 2011-12 season at Rovers first choice between the sticks, ahead of FGR's 2010-11 Supporters' Player of the Season James Bittner.

But Bittner returned to the starting line-up after five games, and after current number one Sam Russell arrived from Darlington in January 2012, Bulman played just two cup games for the remainder of the season.

Even with Bittner's departure in the summer of 2012, Bulman made only two further starts (in cup games) in the following 18 months.

In November, Bulman went on a month long loan to Chippenham Town in a bid to get game time.

Rovers manager Ady Pennock said:: "Matt wants to be playing games and this is the best move for all concerned, the club wish him all the best in his future career."

Bulman leaves Forest Green after a total of nine appearances (including County Cup games).
