A MOTHER from Stroud who failed to regularly send her son to school has been hit with a hefty court bill.
The parent was ordered to pay approximately £558 because her 14-year-old failed to attend their secondary school on a regular basis.
The court register states the teenager did not attend school for nine days during a period last year.
The mum, child and school cannot be named for legal reasons.
The case was proved in the defendant’s absence at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Monday, April 15.
The woman was fined £220 and must pay a £88 victim surcharge plus £250 in costs.
