BRIAN and Ann Carter are celebrating their Platinum wedding anniversary.
The happy couple, from a small village near Stroud, celebrated 70 years of wedded bliss on March 29.
Throughout their married life they have seen history unfold with different Prime Minister and huge economic change - England even won the World Cup during their marriage.
Now they are still enjoying eachothers company at their family home. They grew a large family with six children and have just welcomed their 27th great grandchild into the fold.
Throughout the years their talking, caring and sharing everything have meant they have enjoyed 70 gloriously happy and content time together.
Brian, 90, and Ann, 89, moved to the area 45 years ago.
Ann, nee Breadmore, was working at Woolworths where Brian was a trainee manager and they married at Wilton Church before moving to the Stroud area.
The happy couple have six children, 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Their children are:
Jane Hinks, Paul Carter, Susanne Herridge , Andrew Carter , Tina Persson, Mandy Soane .
They moved around the country a lot due to the nature of Brian's job, manager of Woolworth, and his last posting was to Stroud, that is when they moved to the Stroud area 45 years ago.
Brian is a member of Minchinhampton Golf Course and still plays half a round once or twice a week when able.
He is a former chairman of Minchinhampton golf club.
Brian and Ann say the secret of happy marriage is talking, sharing, caring and tolerance.
