AFTER just over 150 years of reporting the news in Stroud, the SNJ is making headlines itself.
We are delighted to announce that we have a new home - and it's right in the centre of Stroud, meaning we will still be at the heart of everything that happens here.
As of Monday, our news team will be operating from Palace Chambers in London Road.
We have been based in the three-storey building in Lansdown since the mid-1800s - and while this has served us well over the decades, technological advances mean we no longer require such large premises.
Our old home has been sold and will be given a new lease of life while our news team are looking forward to settling into their new surroundings.
The SNJ is an extremely successful local news title, with a dedicated print readership and an ever-growing digital audience who follow all the latest news via our website.
The paper is read by 72 per cent of adults in Stroud and Stonehouse each month.
Editor Stephanie Preece said: “As anyone who has ever moved home will know – it can be a stressful time, but we are now very much looking forward to bringing you all the local news from our new home.
“We are as committed as ever to reporting on all of the stories that matter to the people of Stroud and surrounding valleys and we are delighted to have found a new home right in the heart of the town.
“The Stroud News & Journal continues to go from strength to strength and it’s still very much business as usual for us, despite all the boxes!”
