A COUNCILLOR has spoken of their delight with the progress in multiple roadworks in Stonehouse.

Gloucestershire County Councillor Nick Housden (Independent Conservative, Stonehouse) has shared his delight as today's works in Bristol Road in the town is the latest road to be resurfaced.

As part of these works, there are two-way traffic lights in place on the A419 Bristol Road tonight, Friday, between 7pm and 6am tomorrow, Saturday, November 18.

He said: ‘’I am delighted to see this key road in my ward being resurfaced.

"I have been pushing with residents of Avenue Terrace to have that entrance resurfaced for a while, so to see it now being done is brilliant.

"When combined with resurfacing to Melbourne Close, Elm Road, Browns Lane, Pearcroft Road and Standish Bridge we are really getting on top of roads across my ward.

"Kings Road and Woodcock lane are pencilled in for school holidays next summer.

"I still have lots I would like to see done, but the progress to do date has been really good."
