The Stroud News & Journal is one step closer to finding a new home.
As we reported in February our building in the Lansdown has been on the market and we are pleased to report that a buyer has now been found.
Editor Stephanie Preece said: "Although it's sad to be leaving the building that we have called home for so long, we are delighted to say that a buyer has been found who can breathe new life into this beautiful building.
"The sale is in the early stages and no timescale has been confirmed but we will continue to keep our readers updated.
"Changes in the industry and technological advances mean we no longer require a building as large as our current premises. Much of our commercial operation is now done online.
"However, we remain committed to keeping our editorial team in Stroud and we are now actively searching for a new home in the town.
"Don't worry this will just be a change of address when the move happens - everything else is staying the same!"
The Stroud News & Journal has been in its current three-storey building in the Lansdown since 1868.
The paper continues to be Stroud's leading local newspaper both in print and online.
