POLICE have reported that a body has been found in connection with the search for 61-year-old Alison who had been reported missing from Gloucester yesterday (Monday).

A member of the public called officers last night to say they had found the body of a woman in a canal in the city.

Alison's next of kin and the Coroners' Office have been informed.

The circumstances of the death are not being treated as suspicious.

Police would like to thank colleagues from the Severn Area Rescue Association, National Police Air Service and local residents for their assistance with searches.

The police's thoughts remain with Alison's family and friends at this difficult time.
