Avon Fire and Rescue Service are also providing drone support.

Residents have been warned they will see smoke for some time and have been advised to stay away from the area and keep doors and windows closed.

There have been a number of fires in the area in recent days.

Yesterday a fire spread across 50 acres of farmland in Cherington, with smoke visible from Stroud and Nailsworth.

It comes after the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Met Office issued an Amber alert warning of extreme heat for Thursday to Sunday.
