Below is a letter from a reader in this week's SNJ (Oct 24).

WITH the A419 becoming busier, isn’t it time for Gloucestershire County Council to push forward the reopening of the Stonehouse Bristol Road railway station?

This would allow Stroud and Stonehouse residents the opportunity to travel to Bristol and the South West easily by rail without having to go via Gloucester, providing adequate parking is available to avoid inconvenience to local residents and the nationalised network rail does not bump up the cost

The reopening of this station would improve public transport like Cam and Dursley has for Dursley.
