THERE is still a chance to see the Laurie Lee Centenary Mural in the Shambles Market before it moves to a new permanent location on July 2.
Designed and made by South Gloucestershire and Stroud College, the colourful mural celebrates the work of famous local author Laurie Lee.
Now it will move to a new home at Stroud Library, where it can be more easily maintained.
Rick Vick, who was involved in creating the mural, said: "The mural is a vivid celebration of Laurie Lee’s literary visions and of his beloved village of Slad.
"It is great that it will now hang permanently in the museum."
Commissioned by Stroud Festival and Stroud District Council, it was installed at the height of celebrations to mark Lee's centenary and has proved a popular attraction at the Shambles for the past year.
Souvenir postcards are available from Tourist Information, Made in Stroud, Museum in the Park and Stroud Library.
